Flaccid Protests

This is a series of group protests that I’ve organized around the theme of flaccidity.

The first protest took place in 2022 outside of Ditch Projects in Springfield, OR as part of my thesis exhibition. In this version, I made all of the signs, dressed my friends up in Danny Zuko costumes, and asked them to create their own protest chants. The second iteration—which accompanied an exhibition at Well Well Projects, in Portland OR in 2023—followed the same format with new protestors.

The most recent protest was a participatory event in which the audience was invited to join in. They were given signs and chants sheets, but also invited to bring their own interpretation. This performance was included in the Oregon Contemporary Artists’ Biennial in 2024
